The trailer for the new film SUPER from writer/director James Gunn (Tromeo and Juliette, Slither) is now officially online ahead of it’s screening at the SXSW film festival. You can watch it here.
The latest in a line of recent independent superhero films, SUPER’s contemporaries include Kick-Ass and Defendor and have much more in common with past films like Hero at Large than they do with studio tentpoles like Iron Man or The Dark Knight.
I’m looking forward to checking this out.
SUPER tells the story of Frank (Rainn Wilson) who creates a super-hero alter ego named Crimson Bolt to take down his ex-wife’s drug dealing new boyfirend (Kevin Bacon). Joining him on his crusade is sidekick Boltie (Ellen Page) and The Holy Avenger (Nathan Fillion).
